I am brooming....

There are so many weird things in English! It is driving me crazy!

I mean--we mop with a mop. i am mopping.
but we don't broom with a broom. we sweep. not i am brooming.

Goose--geese---not gooses
moose--but not meese
mouse-mice--not mouses or mices

argh!
