More Americans!

Hola!

Today has been a pretty busy day and it is only 2:15 in the afternoon. We got up this morning and met with Miguel at 8 to talk about the water project and give him a sort of background of what we are hoping to accomplish with the project. After talking for a few minutes with him, we headed over to city hall and we had a meeting with the mayor to introduce ourselves and to let her know our plans and to let her know that we might need her help doing some things. After meeting with her, we were sent over to the Office of Projects. We sat down and talked with them. They will be the ones that will be helping the most because they work with...well...projects. We gave them the paperwork that we are needing to get filled out and they agreed to make copies for all of the families for us. They have the information about the population and other things that we need. We will be going back to meet with them tomorrow to talk about the water project, and also to find out other areas of need in Jinotega. I'm not entirely sure, because it was in rapid fire Spanish, but I believe that it was a list that we could give mission teams in case they have free time.

After we did that, we came back to the hotel and changed rooms. The room that we had did not have a window, and it costs a lot of money to run air conditioning, and so Tere moved us to a new room that has a window, which we have open right now. Don't worry Jimmy and Junior--it's number 25, not number 3. The room is about the same as our old one, except we have more drawers in the dresser. We started to unpack, but then a guy came by--we think that his name is Ricardo. Ricardo came to the hotel yesterday to help a guy from Holland, and he met up with Jessica. He spoke with her a bit and informed us that there were other American girls in the city. And so, this morning, he came by and took us to met them. And then left...It was a bit awkward, but soon we got a little bit more comfortable. There were four American girls that we met. They were all working medically. They seemed pretty nice and we might try to hang out at some time while they are here. After we talked with them for awhile, they were going to eat lunch, and so Jess and I journeyed back into the city. Ricardo said that he could come get us in about twenty minutes or so, but Jess and I felt confident enough to walk back by ourselves, and so we did.

We are finally settled down in our new room, and we are getting ready to go teach English to the Hotel Staff. Hope this finds you all well!
